Health & Safety Policy

Version 1.0 ·

Approved by Vladimir Proskurin, Director

How we keep the people who work for us, and anyone affected by our work, safe and well.

1. Statement of intent

Riviera Designs Ltd will, as far as reasonably practicable, provide safe and healthy working conditions for everyone who works for us, and for anyone affected by our work (clients, visitors, the public). We comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and related regulations.

2. Responsibilities

  • The Director has overall responsibility for health and safety.

  • Everyone who works for us must take reasonable care of themselves and others and report hazards.

3. Our work

Our work is mainly computer-based, done from home offices or on client sites. The main risks are:

  • display screen equipment (DSE): posture, eyesight, breaks

  • lone and home working

  • travel to client meetings

  • working on client premises

  • stress and workload

4. Arrangements

  • DSE assessments for regular computer users, with eye tests available on request.

  • Sensible working hours and regular breaks.

  • A safe home-working set-up.

  • Following the client's site rules, induction and security requirements when on their premises.

  • Reporting accidents and near misses to the Director, with RIDDOR reports made where required.

  • First aid and emergencies: we work from home offices and on client sites. Each person keeps a basic first-aid kit at home and follows the client's first-aid and fire procedures on their premises.

5. Wellbeing

We manage workload realistically and encourage people to raise concerns early.

6. Subcontractors

Freelancers and subcontractors are responsible for their own health and safety, and must follow client site rules and this policy when working on our projects.

7. Insurance

We hold Employer's Liability insurance (£10m) and Public Liability insurance (£5m) with Chiswell via Simply Business, valid until 4 October 2027.

8. Review

Reviewed every year, or sooner if our work changes. We have fewer than five employees, so a written policy is not legally required. We publish one anyway.
