This notice explains what personal data Riviera Designs collects when you use this website or work with us, why we collect it, and your rights.
Who we are
Riviera Designs is the trading name of RIVIERA DESIGNS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08823733), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us its controller. For any privacy question or request, email admin@rivieradesigns.co.uk.
What we collect
When you contact us through the website form or by email: your name, email address and message. When you sign up to our newsletter: your email address, when you signed up and when you confirmed your subscription by clicking the link in our confirmation email. If you become a client: the contact and project details we need to work with you.
Only if you accept analytics cookies: how you use this website, measured by Google Analytics (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type). Our website host, Framer, also counts page visits without using cookies.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry and prepare a proposal: you asked us to, and it is in our legitimate interest to reply to people who contact us.
To deliver our work and manage our relationship with clients: to perform our contract with you. To keep accounting and tax records: because the law requires it.
To send our newsletter and to measure how the website is used: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies
We set analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_PK4XGW1YL7, from Google Analytics) only after you click Accept on our cookie banner. They help us count visits and see which pages are useful, and last up to 2 years. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so this data is not used for advertising.
If you click Reject, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent stops analytics straight away and deletes these cookies.
Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the banner can remember it; this is strictly necessary and is not used to identify you. To display the site, your browser also loads fonts from Google Fonts and the Google Tag Manager script from Google’s servers. These requests share your IP address with Google but set no cookies.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. It is handled for us by Framer B.V. (Netherlands), which hosts this website and receives form submissions; by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which checks form submissions for spam and passes genuine ones on to us; by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which emails enquiries to us and sends the newsletter confirmation email; by Google, whose Gmail and Google Sheets hold copies of enquiries and newsletter sign-ups and whose Analytics measures the site with your consent; and by GoDaddy, which provides our business email. We share data with anyone else only where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these providers store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Cloudflare, Google and GoDaddy are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as giving adequate protection. Framer and Brevo are based in the EU, which UK law also recognises as adequate; Framer protects transfers to its hosting provider with the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; a sign-up that is never confirmed is never added to our list. Form submissions that fail our spam check: 30 days, so we can make sure no genuine message was lost. Google Analytics data: 14 months.
Data security
To keep our forms free of spam, each submission is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser (such as your IP address, browser type and connection details) to tell people from automated bots. Cloudflare uses these signals only for this check and to improve it, as described in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. We do this in our legitimate interest in keeping this website and our inbox secure. We also take appropriate measures to protect your data from unauthorised access or misuse. While no system is completely secure, we do our best to keep your information safe.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you or another organisation in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email admin@rivieradesigns.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the way we handle data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
